I have had such a good season (bar the odd relatively minor disaster) so desperately trying to find positives about having had my Last Day:-
1, Last hunt sub instalment goes out this month, hooray! Bankrupt no more...
2, More time to catch up on studies/house clearing/social life/learning to shoot
3, Summer long distance rides/hacks with friends
4, No more relentless cleaning of REALLY filthy tack and endless washing of equally bad breeches/shirts
5, No more hobbling around at work the day after having fallen off/been kicked
6, Vehicle not guzzling so much diesel weekly
7, Get through fewer disposable contact lenses
8, Spend more time with my dogs who don't see me much in the week as I'm at work
9, Generally less knackered!
Any more!?

Ok look at the alternatives...
1) Time to Start saving now for next season
2) If you are not there you cant notice other stuff like the need for house cleaning - it now all comes as a bit of a shock
3) Time to start bringing on your new hunter
4) Everytime you look at your "clean" hunting gear it just makes you pine for the coming season
5) No tall tales and stories on how injuries happened
6) Vehicle doesnt know what has hit it from lack of use
7) Nobody recognises you that you are now wearing classes
8) Dogs dont want to do all this "walking" stuff

Haha Fiagai all so true :)

Jenhunt the thing I will miss least is indeed washing my huge filthy grey off before hunting, in the dark, with the tepid muddy water running down my sleeves and dripping on my head... yeeuch! However our pack haven't plaited up since the ban and I am not SO lazy I never want to plait again!

Yeah I will now just have to bore people with how I fell off on a hack!
Agree about the finances bit, I am planning/budgeting for next season already, and very exciting have our lovely homebred 3yo to back, who will hopefully have a day or two out with hounds. :)

you see, I actually enjoy plaiting up until about the last 2 weeks of the season when I get a bit bored of it (it only takes me about half an hour including plaiting up and stitching in his tail!) so I spend april enjoying not plaiting, then get on with eventing!
