Endurance/Pleasure riders - Garmin Forerunner 205 help please ?

Hi all, have recently acquired one of these and not sure of the best way to set it up, just wanting to keep track of distance & speed (km/h) whilst hacking and doing pleasure rides, thanks for any advice
