We have an Ako energiser and its seems to have packed up.
It has 2 settings and a green light used to pulse when it was on but it isnt now only the red (check) light is faintly on. I fully charged the battery last night and power is getting to the unit as when you switch the energiser off both red and green lights flash but then it goes dead.
There was a bit of condensation inside it so we have let it dry out today but it still isnt working.
Any ideas? I dont feel happy with it not on so will have to buy a new one. Any reccomendations.
Ive just seen one called a Fi Shock SS200x on Ebay, sounds good but looks tiny?

could be a short circuit, caused by moisture getting to circuit board, have you tried a fence tester to see if any power is getting to the fence? also, how is your earth?
if you do want a new one, we can give you £15 off any hotline energiser if you send your old one in for recycling!!!

Thanks for replying.
Theres no power getting to the fence and the earth (do you mean the stake) well is just a stake

I didnt buy the energiser, just put towards it so I couldnt trade it in but thanks. Its not that old and looks brand spanking new inside but I know the lady who bought it wont have the receipt.
Would the circuit board dry out or is it kernacked.
Also when I put it on, on the low level nothing happened, put it on the high level and it worked. I went to check it soon after and it wasnt working thats why I thought the battery was dead. We have checked all connections and everything looks fine.

Its a leisure battery. The battery seems fine, weve checked that.

Ive left it to dry all night and its still not working, just the red check light is on so Im off to buy another. I just dont feel easy at all with just the tape and no electric.

My OH is damn good at electronics and has fixed fencers for me. His mum lives in Racliffe (we don't) and he visits every week almost. I'm sure he wouldn't mind taking a look!

The only thing with the modern ones is that they tend to have circuit-boards in and if they go, you are better off replacing them, than trying to find the dodgy component.

Radcliffe was just a shot in the dark BTW
