polo is 11.3, 13 years old welsh pony who is ridden by a 7year old. he belongs to a friend who is concerned that he hasn't got enough energy to cope with the amount of work he is doing. He is fed pony nuts and chaff and hay and does pony club, after school lessons and jumps at shows most weekends.
He isn't over/under weight and she is very worried about laminitis and also doesn't want him to become too strong for her daughter but feels he lacks sparkle.
someone has suggested oats but she is a bit reluctant to feed straights. She has also tried slow release competition mix with no effect.
Can anyone give any advice please?
Thanks
Nicky
