Hi All
One quick technical question - my brother in law is doing an oil change on Bluebell the Bedford this weekend and I need to go and buy the oil....but what should I look for? He said 10 litres - any specific type? Its a B-reg 6 cylinder turbo.
And one more cosmetic question - at the moment the interior (horse area) has a kind of 'wood' trim - which makes it quite dark. WOuld you guys prefer to see a white interior? Should I repaint all of it, or maybe leave the lower half wood (hide the dirt!) and do the upper half of the walls white? There is a good division halfway up - like a dado rail but not quite! How about the back wall? And the ceiling? How much white would be good? Thin it will make it lighter but ultimately need to consider possible resale as well.
Thanks for opinions!!

Go to a HGV commercial vehicle garage to get the oil! We use Euro 3 oil which is quite expensive but better for the engine and environment.

The interior should be dark at the bottom and then light at the top-what you have suggested is fine.

Going to Camberley Auto Factors? Is that the right kind of place? Do I just ask for 10 litres of Euro 3 oil? Will that be ok in my ancient engine?

Standard diesel oil is fine - I use that in my TL and have done for last 12 years - mechanic said that's what was required. Halfords sell it

You have not stated if it is a Diesal or Petrol engine?

Oil for Diesal and Petrol is different.

However which ever one it is just go for normal grade for a Bedford.

Sorry, didn't realise that you get bedford TLs with petrol engines! It is definately a diesel.
Sorry to be thick but what is normal grade? Oils seem to have some kind of serial number on - like 5-40? Or something like that!

I just buy Diesel oil at the local petrol station about £15 for 5 litres for castrol stuff.

Here is a pic of the interior of our lorry - I think it looks nice in white - more open

Yep, thats how I would like ours to look!! It just looks rather dark at the moment, even with the lights on. Right, off to hire a sander for the weekend to get the varnish off so I can repaint!
Would take a miracle for ours to look that smart though I think! Is that a clock at the back? V organised!

No - its a light. The wood is like ply covered in this wipe clean white stuff - very technical... don't think it was too expensive to buy. Might be easier than sanding. I'll find you a photo of what ours used to look like when I get home

Think it is a TL 860, but will check when I get home thanks!! If it is the right one would be great to get an owners manual!
