english grackle with ns trans universal

Hoping to get some advice from the bridle experts here!
Have to switch a forward going horse (currently in cavesson with ns trans universal with leather curb) into an english grackle. I'm probably overthinking it, but will the grackle effect the leather curb and how it works? Am I safer using the bit on the lower ring by itself and taking off the leather strap? Horse is perfect 95% of time, but can cross jaw and try and tank at times.

I used to use a universal with a Mexican grackle,when I did use the leather back strap it fitted in fine with the straps from the noseband.

ah grand, was wondering if straps would affect how it moves. will try it and see

No prob,I really like the universal after experimenting I preferred it without the back strap. I thought with the strap on it felt very fixed & solid if that makes sense,my horse went better without it but they're all different.
