English Hackamore with martingale?

Can anyone advise me on whether you can use a running martingale with an English Hackamore?

My sis does on her 14 hh part bred welshie but she s got no brakes or steering most of the time! !

I think it was Diester that was ridden in a hackamore along with a running martingale. I have also seen long distance riders with this combination, so I would assume it is fine.

I have always been told not to use a Hackamore with martingale?

But then its the same theory of having a drop nose band with a gag!

Everyone still does it!
