My TB mare had a swollen leg last week and so after box rest the swelling went down. However, the vein running down the inside of the leg seems enlarged in that leg, worse so if she has been running around (she was turned out today). The vein on the other leg is slightly engorged also. Anyone experienced this or know why it would be happening?

Yeah my farrier mentioned that. Nothing much seems to be coming up when I google it, can you give me anymore info? Thanks!

My Cob (10 years old)has this on all 4 legs and when he was vetted, it was noted that he had varicous veins. Vet said this was a result of his obesity. I have had him 3 years and even when very fit, hunting 2 days a week, they are still prominent. I have been told not to worry about it and it is very handy when looking for a pulse! He also has cellulite...

My OH's big TB x hunter (8 years)has it behind. He has a small bog spavin that only appears when he is out of work. He also has the veins and at his vetting they were referred to as blood spavin. Vet said his spavins were as a result of a hard life/ wrench injury (he is an ex hunt staff horse)
