, practically tanked round the whole 12 miles, and did some jumps, had a ride round the venue to cool him off after as he was well sweaty, had look round to see if I recognised anyone, nope

Kept eyes open for dwi and coffee_bean but didn't spot you.
Was rather dissapointed at how many riders didn't have any viz gear at all

, I know it was an organised ride but there was a small amount of roadwork.
Did have a drama with the trailer on Far Lane going home, got both the Terrano and trailer stuck in the left side of a ditch trying to get past a lorry, 4 wheel drive doing nothing in any ratio, had to unload his lordship to lessen the weight and then managed to get free with a bit of back and forwards rocking, then reload him which he wasn't keen on, had me rather stressed as we were blocking the lane both ways, thanks to the ladies in the lorry for holding him while I got free, thought I was going to have to find a tractor to pull us out

Sounds like you had fun!! I hate towing down Far lane, i dropped a horse off the other week and when i was coming back it was dropping dark and some one almost ran me off the road

I was jumping up and down in my seat and gesturing wildly at the driver and when he got level i let him know exactly what i thought!! My friend (who's horse it was) was

Glad you had a good time, D loved it and would have gone round for a second lap, she was really getting into her stride in the last few miles. It took her a while to understand that she was allowed to canter across every field if she wanted to. Loved the jumps and a big thank you to the lovely marshall who put one back up for me after D got a bit lazy.

You were probably ahead of us, OH was being an old woman and wouldn't let me drive on my own. Made me wait for him to drive it and was then 1/2 hr late down to the yard so all in all we didn't set off on the ride until about 9.45. Went fairly fast for D but didn't overtake anyone, seemed to be about the standard pace as didn't get ovetaken either.

Ditto on the hi viz, you'll be pleased to know I had mine on. TBH though some people looked like their horses were only ridden once a year. Admist the fit horses I though there were a shocking number that were the size of a house and I would never have asked to go that distance. As a former fattie it's something of a bugbear of mine.
 
Hi dwi, yea I was Definately in front then as we must have set off just after 9.00, I only passed about 3 small groups and no body passed me rest of the ride, I chatted to a couple of ladies on either side of me at the trailer, one was interested in his lordships tights over his nose, so I showed her how to fit them.

I like how well organised it all is, especially having the Police to stop the traffic at the nasty road crossing etc

It was really busy when I left, nice to think that the money was going to a good cause.

Should have phrased that better, I've never been fat, just D! It is like being a former smoker, I feel that if I managed to get the weight off the round little cob that I bought and turn her into a slim RC allrounder then other people could as well.

Ahh you were far to early for me... i was sorting out escaping horses and working until 11 ish, and didn't go out till about 12. Got told I was going the wrong way by one of the marshalls lol!! I told them I was going home haha. Gutted I couldn't do it.
