Now evil pony is gone and I can actually get some feed into my pony and try to put some weight back on her I have switched (gradually) onto soaked oats.
Main problem is that we only have 3 bins to store all our feed in due to lack of space and this includes Mickey's (laminitic pony) feed too!
However, M can have speedibeet and Feel good (low cal) chaff (which also contains alfalfa) so Tilly's current diet is now soaked oats (about 1 bowl scoop of dry oats, soaked then split over 2 feeds), A big double handful of chaff in each feed and about 1 mug of dry speedibeet (soaked and then divided into 2 feeds) and then a good glug of veggie oil and some carrots.
M is then able to have speedibeet and chaff.
Does this sound ok? Was a little worried she might not be getting enough calcium but I *think* I read somewhere that speedibeet has quite a high calcium content too?
Please don't ask me about weights though I have always fed to condition rather than weight so no idea what her feed weighs - if she needs more weight I'll add in a 3rd feed and if she becomes too fat then I'll reduce what she's eating!
Oh and we still have pretty good grazing and she will have ad lib, good quality hay when the grazing starts to go!
Thankies in advance, sorry for the waffle!
