Well, the terrier has, at long last, killed her first rats. Sadly I was not there to see it. Apparently she took a bit of time to kill the first one, but after that it was snap and die. Clever girl.
She is 2 now, and I wondered if she was quick enough, as she has often been in hot pursuit but never been able to catch any before, but my son was clearing out some cattle sheds and the rats were hiding in the back under old straw.
She had certainly perked up, and we were a bit worried in case she thought anything furry would be quarry, but she cautiously sneaked round the ginger cat that stands it ground, as usual.
It is now official - we have a rat catcher.
