Some of you know Inky has been suffering from excessive tears. He has been to Leahurst and diagnosed with entropion ( rolling in of the eyelids ) He has to have a stitch in his eyelid to see whether this improves things and possibly an operation. I made the mistake of looking it up on the internet

and i am now paniking. Having had lots of eye surgery myself it is getting me worried.
Has anyone ever come across this before? Has anyones horsey ever had the "stitch" or the full corrective surgery?

not sure if this is any help at all ...
but

My friends dog had this done to both eyelids and recovered fine afterwards and has had no troubles since.

Had a foal who developed this due to dehydration caused by colic. Had a stitch in both eyes and was absolutely fine and made a full recovery. Try not to panic too much!

Did the stitch stay in permanently? What did it look like? do you have any pics? i have a few major shows coming up ( not that this comes first, obviously my poor little inkys welfare comes first and if i cant go i cant go!!! ) and just wondered whether you would be able to tell?

thats spooky my asst at work has just had this done, it has worked, and although she is still unhappy about some aspects of her sight, the stitchy procedure worked fine and is causing no problems, she went to moorfields eye hospital one of best in country, ok, the best! - dont think they take inky's tho!! He will be fine, try not to worry too much xxx

Sadly enough JC has watery eye which I am keeping an eye on, just on the one side......

(Pics in gallery of clipped jc xx)
