Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced having to remove their horses eye recently, and could kindly advise of costs to expect, including the surgery and aftercare?

Many Thanks

Mine was nearly 3yrs ago but the op itself was £1300 standing sedation. All in, including pre and post op checks (horse was only in vets overnight) it was around £2.3k

Mine was done in 2016 and pony was not insured, 250 to see the eye specialist beforehand for diagnosis. Just under 900 for op under standing sedation and one nights overnight stay at vet hospital and associated painkillers and antibiotics to use at home. Bandage came off after 3 or 4 days (no vet visit required). I called the hospital a few times for reassurance as I was surprised at how swollen it looked but that was normal. Then I had one visit from my own vet 10 days later to have the stitches out. Out for a ride and turned out the same day.
