Well I did just write a really long post and then lost it, so will keep this shorter!

It's now been three months since Enys, our 5 year old ISH, first arrived. Technically our three month owniversary should have been celebrated on Saturday but when I first picked Enys up he was involved in a traumatic horsebox accident (read about it here) and had to stay at the vets before he could finally come to ours.

When he arrived he was VERY grumpy and would bite and kick. Three months down the line, with the help of a horsemanship lady (and the good old sunshine and grass!), he is now alot better. You still have to be wary around him but he has improved so much. We can even almost have a cuddle.

He was very nearly sent back several times but hopefully now we have got through the worst. My confidence isn't what it was - I lost two young horses last year (my beautiful Ettie to arthritus and a project horse to grass sickness) so I now worry about everything .

Injury wise, Enys' visible injuries are all healed and we are working with the physio and chiro to sort out the non-visible ones.

Ridden-wise he is a star (not a menace at all!) and although green, he seems quite sensible. His schooling is progressing very slowly due to still recovering but it is progressing. He loves going out for hacks - he is fine in the horsebox with a companion and we'll soon attempt taking him by himself. Fingers crossed!

Everyone who has met him thinks that he will be a fantastic horse once we sort out his quirks. We are really just reaching 'square one' in our relationship together, as I think the accident put our trust in each other back alot but things are starting to look up alot.

So enough of my rambling, you probably want to see photos!

Here's Enys the Menace when he first arrived (you can see he is all swollen under his belly):

And now:

He is quite bizare colours...He is bay under his belly, dark grey where he was clipped and silver where his winter coat is still there!)

And a few more photos:

- I wouldn't have dared stand this close to his mouth a few months ago!

So really it's just now seeing what we achieve in the next three months!

Thank you for reading and thank you for the support people have given me on HH over the last few months :)

(whoops still turned out to be a long post!)

Well I think Enys is a lovely boy! He is so much calmer than when he first arrived and I think you two are starting to bond now!!!
I'm sure you will go on to have lots of fun together. :)

Thank you :)

Had the chiro come today and he was quite crooked (though not lame at all) - so back to restricted work again. However once he is straight hell hopefully start progressing more with schooling :D
