Lovely Northamptonshire again!

Just watched it, not usually a huge fan of flat racing but wow, the pacemaker went off as if his tail was on fire and only Workforce could catch him, then went away and set a new course record... almost a second faster than Lammtara's record. WOW.
The pacemaker, at 100-1, At First Sight, came second. I fancied him, wish I was a gambler!

blast it! Meant to watch and completely forgot! Thanks for the heads up - wish I'd had a bet too - garden was too much of a draw today...ho hum...

I thought Workforce was a lovely type - had already backed Al Zir, but put a "couple of quid" eachway on Workforce after I saw him in the paddock. Also backed Bertoliver at 33/1 in the previous race, so having a good afternoon ...

thanks to that article on HHO this week (they had a theory about who would win the derby) I did have £1.50 each way on At First Sight!!! Won £60, hooray! I so nearly thought he was going to win, i'd have had £225 then.

Wow! Congrats! Enjoy spending!

cracking race! I didn't have a bet but had a premonition that something with white on its face would win - unfortunately I tipped Midas Touch rather than Workforce. Would have been good to have had a few quid each way on the pacemaker!

I had a £25 bet on the Derby as a Birthday present from my boss. I backed workforce to win and won, brilliant race!!!!!!!!!

Well Workforce won, and he was going as though he could go round again. But I think the hero was At First Sight because he nearly slipped the field and he beat all the rest, yet no one was making a fuss about that. I suppose no-one remembers the second.

I'll remember him as I had some money e/w on him so got a tidy sum back! For me one of the greatest "2nd's" was Terrimon in 1989 coming in at 500-1.
