Someone told me Epsom salts are great for clearing out toxins in the body that could potentially lead to Laminitis. Does anyone else use these salts for this purpose? Thanks
Ive never heard of epsom salts being used on lami horses or for flushing out toxins! Its normally used as a laxitive as it draws water to itself while in the large intestine. Bicarbonate of soda is good for reducing acid in the blood which may help a little in tying up and lami. I always gave it to the eventers after hard work or competing. Mairi.
