I use Aquamax. I use it with rubber matts and I think it's great. It's really quick to muck out and you take out a lot less. All the horses like it and it's much easier to store and get in the car!

I tried Aquamax this summer and think it's really good.
It looks really wierd at first and takes at least 10 bags to lay the initial bed, so it's quite expensive. You have to use what seems quite a lot of water to "activate" it, which doesn't feel quite right.
However, once you've got over this, it's brilliant. My horse is in at night, out during the day and I use a new bag approximately every 10 days. The amount you have to remove is dramatically less than straw and because it's almost like sawdust (but definately NOT dusty), it rots down much quicker than shavings.

I'll definately be keeping this particular horse on Aquamax, but am reluctant to put my other two on it, but only because of the cost of laying a new bed. 10 bags x 2 stables at between £5.50 & £6 per bag = a lot of money!!!

Hope this helps, it's much easier than shavings.
