Can someone please explain why I have just forked out £180 for shoeing, but am sitting here is a pair of £2.50 ballet pumps from Primark?

Can someone also explain why I paid £144 for the dentist, but havent been myself for about three years?

And THEN can someone please explain why I am about to pay £250 on winter rugs for them, but am looking at a £20 coat on ebay with envy?

Am I missing something here?

hmm that sounds familiar, i actually went shopping for myself the other day (cant remeber the last time i did), didnt spend much but still felt guilty for some reason.
I will buy things for the horses without a second thought though.

My horses stable rent costs more than my mortgage.

Insurance for my horse is more than for my car.

Her diet is carefully monitored and continually tweaked. I am lucky if I get something from the freezer chucked in the microwave.

Would I have it any other way? Nope

I am very careful with my money (some might call it "tight") however my 2 nags have talked me into 60quids of supplements a month between them. How did that happen??

It's because you're too extravagant...... £10 is more than enough for a coat for yourself!

My son asked me for some new shoes last week, they were £60.00 (he has size 12 feet - age 13!!) I very nearly said 'no way am I spending that on a pair of shoes' but then realised I spend twice that on two sets for the horses every six weeks

and I brought them for him.

I also never spend any money on myself, but have just been to the tack shop to buy *another* bit that cost almost £50

I spend a fortune on clothes for me as dont have own horse maybe 200 quid a month! brought a shed load of new riding clothes though the past month!

you have to be economic everywhere if you are going to keep your nags properly. if you cant keep them properly dont have them! tennis raquets cost nothing to fed or keep over the winter?
