Howdi Partners,

Just thought I'd stop by and ask a quick question...

Can anyone give me a rough idea of the Full Time wage of working with horses... i.e General Yard Duties/Grooming and Riding.

Thankies.. I know it's prob not the easiest to answer!! LOL!!

Most are minimum wage so it depends on the hours, or include accomodation etc so basically nothing! My frend works on a yard full time (5 days a week) from 7.30 until 4.30 officially but is often working 7 till 6 and gets all accomodation and utilities paid as well as 3 meals a day but only gets paid £95 a week :O! I know we used to get minimum wage at home unless you were promoted to head boy or girl and had loads of NVQ and BHS quilifications

I have a girl that helps with yard duties, I pay her £7.50 per hour.

Ive had enough of my job at the mo, I miss working with horses,

Would love someone to take me on,????
I have 20 years experience my NVQ 1 and 2, BHS stages 1,2,3, got towing licence
But I would have to have accomodation for me, my hubby, 2 year old son my 3 horses (well I could just take the 1) and my 2 dogs lol

Thats the reason I had to get a"proper" job as my mum called it because the pay was so low, but brill to do if you dont have any ties.

Im currently training as an equine massage therapist so hopefully I will be able to get back in to working with horses soon.

Good luck

Sadly I do have tie.. although my current job (just started) isn't paying a massive wage so there could be pros/cons about staying/starting something new! - We'll see!!

Thanks xx

I like to think that our staff are happy at work and try to pay them a decent wage. I really value my yard girl, I have been on the other end working crap hours for crap pay.
