Was just about to buy a pair of Equi-chaps as boy has had mud fever now healed, when I noticed these....

I am not too happy about the £70 that Equi-chaps are retailed at however prior to seeing the above there was no alternative as other brands stopped half way down the pasterns which is where the problem lies.
Any one experience of either?
Do you still have to use barrier cream/powder with them?
