I tried my friends equidry Mac on last week so comfy and she loves it! Gorgeous colours too. Will have to wait for Santa to buy I think but would love to hear if anyone has had any problems with them. For the price I’d hope not. Also I’m a 12-14 so how come xxsmall fitted 🤔. Anyone found something cheaper that’s as good? Thanks.

I don't really rate the Equidry Mac. I don't think it's any more waterproof than one of the much cheaper, similar looking long coats that riders have worn for years. Not sure I'd recommend it.
I've found the fleece lined ones, in particular the all rounder, brilliant though. I loved in mine all last winter and was toasty and bone dry. It is very, very warm though.

I found the allrounder too warm! It's good for depths of winter and snow etc but was too warm for 90% of the rest of the year! I sold it, looking to get a cheaper alternative without so much fleece!

which one would you recommend? I could do with something similar that is waterproof without making me feel like a boil in the bag meal

I was liking the look of this https://www.redpostequestrian.co.uk..._5LBGc93QsrhzcUq6Q1rv48y0Gf97unhoCNlgQAvD_BwE and this https://www.fleetequestrian.com/product/jack-murphy-malvern-coat-ladies/

and have messaged le mieux to ask if this https://www.lemieux.com/new-in/maisie-lightweight-riding-jacket-navy#selection.color=6658 has a waterproof rating

I got an equidry from my sister for my birthday. Such a generous present but she got it in an XS. It’s still big on my body being slim but so short on my monkey arms and I love a long sleeve. She said that she didn’t think the bigger sizes sleeve length was much longer but I find the short sleeves uncomfortable and the thought of rain dripping on my hands makes me not want to wear it. Does anyone know if it’s true the sleeve length isn’t longer in bigger sizes?

ETA she is really easily offended so if I said I wanted it exchanged she would probably take it personally.

and this is why when people buy you something like this they ought to just provide the receipt and then you could return it without offended her.

My mother in law used to open her xmas presents, if she didn't like she used to just hand them back there and then mainly because she was a cow. Next level trolling that!

I've got the Shires version and I'm very happy with it. Quite a bit cheaper than the equidry and fewer colour options. (I think they released a hunter green this year).

Sizes aren't as generous as equidry, I think I have the medium which is the same as the equidry XS and I can comfortably wear my BP underneath.

I'm 5'10" tall, size 12-14 and have very long arms for a female.

The XS Tall is perfect in me in the mesh lined Equimac, but I need a Small in the Equidry Pro Ride lite.

I'm not convinced about the design for riding. I did ride in my Equimac today in very wet and windy conditions, but I'll leave it for off horse use in future. Too much material around.

I do love them for off horse use, though.

My XS Tall equimac.

Thank you 😊

If you don’t find it good for riding anyway then maybe I can survive with it and wear something else for on the horse.

I’m a size 10 but if it’s not sports clothing then I need a 14 for my shoulders and arms. I’m such an awkward shape very little clothes look good on me and jackets are a pain. I’m just under 5’6 so not tall.

I have two Equidry coats, they’re small size and you could easily fit another person inside! the original has been washed and is still waterproof and warm. It very wet and windy where l live so it’s worn most days in winter. I bought the second one to try and have a clean tidy one for competitions etc. l haven’t ridden in mine as have a couple of other long waterproof coats and skirts which are more flexible. It you want to stay warm and dry outside the Equidry is fabulous. Some of the ’copies’ aren’t as well made and the linings don’t appear to be as thick. I suppose it depends how warm you want to be but l find the really comfortable. Nothing worse than being cold when stewarding or helping in the winter.

My brother bought me one last Christmas. It was heoooge!! Hubby and I both got in it and did it up!!! Bonkers! I took pics for brother to prove the point and sent it back to him for exchange or his money back. I'm not sure, had it fitted, how I would be able to move in it to do any work. Waterproofness seems to be an issue and also this fashion for short jackets so that your backside gets soaked. Trying to find another now for this winter and thus far no luck for what i want at a sensible price.

I'd like to know if the equidry Mac is fully waterproof in several hours of heavy rain? My Equidry lite is but I am less sure about the unlined Mac.

Do you ride in the Equidry Pro Ride lite? Is the Mac not the same design in unlined material?

No, I've not ridden in my Equidry Pro Ride Lite. The Mac is a slightly different and more flattering design with a slightly gathered waist.

Both Equidrys are IME 100% waterproof.
Ah so if I am happy to ride in the Equidry Pro Ride Lite, I should be equally happy to ride in the Mac.

Have you tested the Mac in prolonged heavy rain? thanks

Badminton 2023, 2nd day of dressage and coronation day. My covered seat in the stands was not, unfortunately, sheltered from the driving rain. Underneath the Mac, I was warm and dry 🤣. I got stopped by several people asking where they could buy one!

I really like my hkm heated coat it Is slimline and flattering in shape and keeps me warm and dry. I hate the look of these coats I can look like a shapeless mess without the help of a coat!

Well I should not have looked at this thread as I have just ordered a Jack Murphy Malvern coat from Fleet Equestrian. Not for riding in but when out and about in cold+/or rain!!

After my horse slipped over twice a few years ago, I always hack in a body protector. No coat is flattering over a body protector a year.

I have hacked in my Equidry pro ride lite. I wouldn’t school in it but it was good for hacking in really cold weather as kept my legs warm. Just remember to unzip the flaps and put the straps around your leg.

Further to this post of mine, anyone thinking of riding in an Equi Mac have a look at the Everything Equidry FB page and see what I mean.

The rider on the beach is not me, but this is what I felt was happening to me when riding out in yesterday’s storm. Not all horses would ignore this.

I did have the leg straps secured and all the zips adjusted as per the destructions.

I have the equidry allrounder but it’s too warm for most of the months of the year but I love the coat so I do spend more of the time like boil in the bag! I can wear my work clothes underneath and do the horses and sheep without getting dirty before work!

I have the small but will go for xsmall in the equiMac to allow a more fitted feel. The equimac has a drawstring waist so I’m hoping this makes it more of a better look when wearing! Just waiting for the colour and size to come in stock.
