I have been looking at some equi leather long boots on e bay - they seem really good value. BUT are they a false economy? Do they look smart and are they hardwearing? what is the 'leather' like? Any experiences please....
Thanks

If you mean the Saxon ones, I have a pair of these. For an 'everyday' pair of boots they've been great, are pretty comfy and are easy to get clean.... however I don't think after a year of wear they could ever be got show smart again, as they have got some scuffs etc on that obviously can't be cleaned off! I'd say compared to 'normal' leather boots they are easier to keep generally clean but you can't polish them up to the same degree.

As said above, I've had mine about a year, and use them almost everyday, except in the winter (when I use thermally lined boots!) and they still have plenty of life left in them. Essentially, I think they are no worse, if not better, than equivalently priced leather ones, although if you want something supersmart for shows I'd only go for equileather ones if that was the ONLY time you were going to wear them!

Have you got a link? I bought some off ebay on Monday, turned up yesterday and I think they are lovely, but I would keep them only for show.

I think you'd be fine to just keep them for show...bought daughter a pair of Robinsons Rrequisite ones with similar artificial leather - while they looked lovely and were comfortable they didn't cut the mustard in use for a ride-every-day-and-do-everything pony club girl, so we're back to joddy boots and chaps, got some nicer leather gaiters for best
