What do people prefer for tying up?

These are for use in a lorry so need to be strong enough to sustain a bit of movement but snap if pony panics.

I like the bungee ones but not sure how they work or if they can be reused? The equi pings seem to have mixed reviews and I can't have something that breaks needlessly! And I have no idea how good the Velcro is.

Thanks :)

I use these

and as it states they are designed to release with a certain amount of pressure but can't say that has ever happened and I now teach my horses to release to pressure so it hasn't been an issue for years. My ID when I first got him when the YO used to use the elastic tie ups used to snap everything as Cortex says, he quite deliberately used to lean backward until it went ping!

Thanks WelshD!

I just tie them up; anything that gives will just train them to pull back.

He doesn't pull back, I just want something safe for him in the lorry in case something were to happen (I.e. he fell) and the twine didn't snap (I have heard of horses hanging themselves in trailers because of this and don't need the extra worry!) Believe me if he were a git to tie on the yard I'd be tying him up with something very non-BHS and a broom up his back side!! :D

I use bungee's in the trailer and on the yard. I wanted something that would release if needed but took a bit of pressure. Bungee's seem to do the job. I leave them in the trailer. Have tested them twice and they snapped open with pressure.

I try and remember to use a quick release lead rope at shows and in the trailer. I've seen too many horses get caught up in bits of the trailer when tied up at shows (although they're a pain to use in everyday life as I always manage to undo them when leading to the field!)
