Hi all! After doing some research I've narrowed it down to two trailers; the Equi-Trek Trail-Treka M and the Cheval Liberte Gold Touring. Car can pull 2,500kg so think these should both be fine? Which do people prefer? I like the equitrek because it overall looks nicer and has somewhere for tack so leaves more space in the car but the cheval is cheaper and lighter. Any experiences would be great, thanks!

I too looked at both, but it was an easy decision in the end - I hated the Cheval Liberte partitions - It was overall very flimsy in comparison to the Equitrek and much smaller!

I've looked at both and I would choose Cheval every time. My horse doesn't travel facing forwards so I looked the the Equitrek Space Treka and the Cheval 4003. I bought the Cheval and it is amazing, herringbone, easy to use partitions, light and airy and has a roof vent and pullman suspension so gives a lovely ride. I think the equitreks look nice, but I wouldn't trust the build quality or expect it to last, plus the only ventilation is two half opening windows.

After a nightmare of finding a trailer my horse would load in, I got a Cheval Liberte as a last resort.

Fabulous build quality, brilliant to tow (far better than all other trailers I've towed with), incredibly stable and good suspension. Plus, the horse now trots on rather than point blank refusing/rearing and panicking.

I would highly recommend a CL trailer to anyone.

Tally-ho trailers is worth a look. They stock new and secondhand cheval trailers. As well as fautras. They deal with the company from France so can get parts directly.

Cheval Liberte trailers may have a French name and are popular in France but they are NOT made here, I think its Poland. I have one outside, but its cold and dark. The horses like it . The Gold models have the Pullman suspension (superior). Both English and French dealers have warned us against the standard suspension.
No experience of Equitreks.
