I'd also like to hear people's opinions as I've been eyeing up up the equiami and as it doesn't need manual adjusting between horses that sounds like the best bet for us at the moment as I want it for a 16.1 and a 13.2
not heard of the equiami *runs off to google*
but - i was using a pessoa on my mare and tbh i didn't like the action on her - she somehow learnt to evade it rather well! or when she did work properly it did seem to catch her in the mouth a bit (not good for a v v sensitive horse who wont accept contact at best of times!)
i've gone back to good old elasticated side reins and getting better work.
but i suspect with these things its horses for courses
I cant stand pessoas - most people dont know how to fit them properly and even when it is fitted properly it encourages horses to lean and go onto the forehand. Everytime they start moving their hocks they get socked in the mouth.
When I was told my boy had suspected KS I was told that I would have to intensively lunge him. The equiami was recommended as it has an independent action and really opens the spine and builds topline to support the horse. It works on a pulley system which self-rights so you dont have to adjust it.
Horse turned out to have arthritis in hocks and now retired, so I have an usued Premium version if anyone is interested!
