Equicoms Wireless foaling camera/CCTV

My foalcam is hard wired so I have good quality pictures and no downtime however it means I have to stay close to the monitor if I want to view it as I haven't got round to making it viewable remotely yet. A friend of mine has the wireless ones, not sure what make, but she is having all sorts of problems with it. The picture is really staggered and the link is terribly hit or miss. They've been working on it for weeks now to try to get it right, then they get it right and it gets knocked out again (breakers tripping, issues with hardrive etc). Now having said that I've also got loads and loads of other friends who use wireless webcams and they don't seem to have any problems with them.

That was no real help to you apart from saying make sure you have someone who knows how to install them properly as you can get all sorts of problems with them.

dont have one to sell buuut...
We borrowed a micromark wireless cctv camera last year and it was brill, they'r not expensive and are so easy to set up, you just plug in and switch on!!
you need good lighting if you dont get a infra-red one though

I have these cameras from Equicoms (wireless type). Have had them now for a few years and they are absolutely brilliant so unfortunately mine are not for sale. Have you not thought about buying direct from them though? They are relatively cheap compared to some other manufacturers and are useful to keep up in the stable(s) throughout the year. We keep one in an empty stable that if a horse seems a bit off-colour, we put it into that stable and then can monitor it during the night - so the cameras are not just used for foaling for us. We've also got one positioned outside so can see what the guard dogs are up to at any time too.

The company are very helpful in that one of my horses decided to chew through one of the leads I'd left hanging down (my fault) and within a few minutes of calling Ireland, one was on its way to me. Highly recommend them - good quality pictures and excellent even in pitch darkness.

Just looking at the TV screen now and cameras are invaluable at the moment - have another of our mares in first stage labour by the looks of her. Here's to a healthy foaling!

Thanks for your advice everyone.

If I can't get one 2nd hand will probably invest, but I was a bit concerned that their website gives a long time slot for delivery.....I will ring them first & check as not much use having a camera after the event !!

Phone Ireland direct - if you explain you want it immediately - they get it couriered to you within 2 days - they did with me initially, and when I wanted the wire for this year, I just rang - explained what had happened and they put the new wire immediately in the post to me.
