We used it for a cob that had photosensitivity issues and her skin and coat did improve quite quickly. It's quite expensive though and I think I've had the same effect on a very poor yearling filly just from a decent diet and her coat now is brilliantly silky and shiny (even under the mud she loves to wallow in!) If you're sure the diet won't do the job for you then perhaps it would be worth trying.
Excellent stuff - worth every penny. Stopped Cairo itching and gave him a fantastic coat.
However, I now feed brewers yeast and linseed for sweet itch and have noticed what nice coats the boys have. I also feed black sunflower seeds and they really do bring up a gloss.
Works out far cheaper, plus good for the joints and the BSS are great for hooves too.
its good but you have to feed alot, like a coffee mug or something? Try miraclecoat, a livery has it and he has been on it forever, whenever he runs out we notice in a few days. Google it or I can find out the manufacturer.
I swear by this stuff! My mare got so itchy that she was bucking in her stable and generally just being demented by it. Her coat was very poor and coming out in patches. Got the vet out who analysed her feed, took skin scrapings and blood tests. Couldn't find anything wrong and suggested i try Equidermis. It worked a treat.
