Does anyone have experience of using either or both of the above?
Have used a borrowed Equissage to good effect but is sooo expensive just wondered whether the Equilibrium was good or not?

had the equilibrium for a week now and all 3 of my horses love it. put it on and they go to sleep, it really relaxes them especially my wb. the tb is usually cold backed and was less so after just 1 go. he also had a longer stride and used his back end (he has never tracked up in his life but was almost there!!) my anglo arab worked better quicker and needed less warming up to settle, that was after 15mins with it as had less time. my wb is wearing it as he is lame with sore feet which caused his muscles to tighten and i use the pad once a day as well as giving him massage which seems to keep him tension free. for me £185 counts as 4 visits from the chiro/ physio and if it prevents me calling them out as much then it is worth its weight in gold!!! not that i like it or anything....

i've got an equissage at the moment (belongs to a visiting horse) and to be totally honest, i don't rate it. the shape of it is not the same shape as the horse, it is like the top of an O, so it rests hard on the withers, then there's a gap both sides, then touches the horse's sides. we are always told NOT to put massagers on bone for a reason...
they don't mind it when it's on, but one horse has to be tied up to have it put on, he'll walk off, not just happily stand for it to be put on, and that tells me a lot.

having just had a look at the equilibrium, and read the testimony above, i wouldn't hesitate. looks like a much better shape and design, and a more realistic price. the equissage is horrifically overpriced for what it is imho.

I have an Equissage which I thought I was happy with until I bought the Equilibrium pad! The Equilibrium covers far more area than the Equissage and my horses are ten times softer through the back than with the Equissage which means that I can sit into them far better. I used the Equissage on a particularly tight backed horse and she actually got far worse because she was trying to resist the vibrations. I have a GP Dressage horse on the yard who's owner swore by Equissage and used it daily however when our chiro was going through her back she discovered very severe bruising and scarring through the back of the shoulder muscles. The Equissage is now gathering dust and I have bought four more Equilibrium pads so that we have enough to swap around for all of the horses to have thirty mins massage before and after work.

I agree with all of the above. Have had both and prefer the Equilibrium pad. Try putting the equissage near your head - it gives you a headache!

Only problem with the equilibrium pad is it slips so I put a dressage pad underneath. And it can make them a bit sweaty on hot days.

I think we've got the equilibrium pad at the yard, equissage was too expensive, and it seems to be pretty good. They use it on all their showjumpers. Put it on Flash the other day to see what he thought and he loved it, his lips were going and he was swaying side to sode with a daft look on his face

He seemed a lot more supple and quicker to get into his work after use as well

Thank you!! You lot really are kind to give your replies....our little TB event horse gets really tight in his back muscles and loves having his massage - quite willing to spend on an Equilibrium but felt the Equissage was a step too far on the money front - from your replies I can happily go out and buy an Equilibrium which I must say I thought was better as it uses pulse as well as a constant. Appreciate your comments
