i have a pony that reguraly gets a stiff back (it has been so bad he went lame)the vets cant find anything wrong with him so they got the best back person in the counrty to see him and there is nothing wrong but she said it may be caused by the way i was riding him so i now have a new trainer and the problem has greatly reduced but still reoccurs every now and then. i was wondering if anyone nows if this would help or has any feed back or other suggestions. plz help

Ive just got one, they seem good. Ive used an equissage before, and although the equissage seems more powerful the equilibrium does a larger area covering the whole saddle area. Its also sits nicely on the horse and is nice and quiet.

I would say it should help.

Don't know about equilibrium but used an equissage before, works ok but is very expensive. The best thing is to give a massage yourself as part of your grooming routine mine love it. I did a weekend course that was arranged by my physio, if you are prepared to study a little you can get a qualification as an equine masseuse. Look in the press for courses.

ahem best back person in the country!!! how exactly was that assessed???? anyway, i think massage would help if the muscles are sore, however i think saying its how you;re riding is a bit of a cop out. i suggest you get a second opinion from someone who can recommend a good backwork practitioner first (osteo obv!!!), then move to trying other options.

she is the best chosen by vets pratice's all over the counrty and voted best for three years running the way i was ridding i now know was totaly wrong i was taught to ram my seat bones into the saddle and hold the horse on a much to tighter rain she ascesed him ridden which is how i know. after her assecment had six months work phisio and stuff like that but the desicion they all came to was it is reacering and i did a six week course on specific flat work to help.
