Equilibrium nose net alternative

Can anyone recommend another make of net I could use on the equilibrium noseband?

I use an Equilibrium nose net on my horse in the summer months and have just put the last of the three nets that came in the pack on my bridle. I don't want to spend another £25+ on the noseband fixing and three more nets if there is a cheaper alternative.

Looking on ebay I see there is an Aerborn version. Has anyone used it?

Having had a look at the Aerborn one, I'm not sure if it comes down low enough on the muzzle.

But I suppose it depends on what you are using it for.

The Equilibrium nose net helped to reduce my boys headshaking by over 90% but whether it was by luck or design I don't know. I rather liked that the E one covered the whole of the muzzle and nostrils.

Thanks Casey76. I agree the Aerborn nose net doesn't appear to be shaped/contoured to fit around the nostrils which is why I'm not sure about it.

With my horse the problem seems to be the midges. I can barely see them but without a nose net he throws his head around and keeps wanting to rub his nose on his knees.

If you want something for hacking and schooling rather than competition you could try the Cashel Quiet Ride full face mask. I got this for my mare last year and found she was so much happier in it out hacking. It covers the whole face and ears so the pesky bugs and pollen don't seem to get into it.

Sometimes you can find just the nose net on ebay by themselves.

If you still have a net to use as a template, why don't you try and make one? You can buy tulle netting material from fabric shops - that's what I'll be doing when mine need replacing as I refuse to pay that price for a piece of fabric that costs a few pence
