Equillibrium Massage Pad

You couldn't use it easily on quarters and I wouldn't use it while travelling, they can slip round so I wouldn't fancy a panicked horse in motion.

Don't think you could adapt it to fit the quarters either.

I don't travel mine in their pad but do tend to put it on when we arrive. In my experience the Equilibrium pad is much less likely to slip round that the Equissage massage pad.

I've seen them used when travelling without problems (quiet horse, short journey). Not sure I would. Perhaps with a light fleece rug on top to cover up the straps and keep everything in place - that might get warm though?

i have not seen them used traveling but they are very good i did however swap to the new horseware sportz-vibe rug when it came out because the pannels can be move depending on what area you want massaged i currently have mine with the panel set to the back and quarters. The panels are also inserted int a cooler type rug rather than a pad .

If the pad did slip whilst you were travelling, and the horse then leaned against the partition, then that would probably knacker the pad's vibrating thingeys.

I'm a great fan of my Equilibrium massage pad, and so are the neds, but it can slip round even if done up quite tight. It's never upset the horses if this has happened, though.

I sometimes wear mine draped around my neck and shoulders if I'm suffering, it's wonderful!

Re the horse's quarters, you could put the pad on the quarters and run it, but you wouldn't be able to strap it on. Would be ok if you stood by the horse all the time, I suppose.

I sometimes use mine when travelling to a lesson (usually only 15/20 mins away in lorry and I have cctv to monitor horse area) have never had a problem. I find it really useful and often use it to warm up back muscles before a competition. Would definitely recommend it and my horses love having it on. I find it covers the area behind the saddle on mine which is where they usually get tight, but wouldn't be able to use on hind quarters.

Not sure I would travel mine with it on but he will stand in truck stationary wearing it. I don't think it adapts well to moving it to the quarters (even if you just drape it over) because the vibrator things wouldn't be in the right place to hit the major muscles. Well, you could maybe suqish it up so that they sit in the right place, but then you would have to hold it there.

The alternative for the quarters would be the equilibrium massage mitt but I do have some doubts as to whether it is really powerful enough. Or you could look to getting a human handheld massage machine (I beliee mine is by homedic) which is stronger but would need to be plugged into the mains (too much faff for my liking).

I have seen a cyclossage rug (I think that's its name) which has vibrating panels in various locations including over the rump but it costs more than my last car....

10/10 for Equilibrium Massage Pad. I personally wouldn't travel my mare in mine, only because we usually travel for a minimum of an hour and our cctv has packed up and she also gets hot (brilliant traveller just gets sweaty with fleece on).

I use mine:
- before and after lessons so that she's ready to go and has definitely cooled down any muscles that have worked hard.
- afterwards only during the week (don't have time beforehand as i get to the yard 7:30pm)
- before competing (once we have arrived and I'm faffing about with bridle numbers and stocks and chatting) and then after our classes if we're waiting for sheets.

Re: quarters - we didn't secure the front strap and slid it back over the lumbar region for a 1 time treatment. We did put a rug over to keep it still and she was in her stable standing still.

Hope this helps - I'd strongly recommend!

Thanks for the input guys - think i am going to give it a go, a friend has said i can try hers to make sure the horse doesn't object too strongly then i think i'll get one - Thank you
