I deep litter my stable through the winter but Skye spends a lot of time head over door being nosy, so have decided to rubber mat the front ( well will actually end up being half the stable!)
Have looked at all sorts and as i am looking at matting to provide a softer standing area i like the look of the equi mats or the EVA cow mats ( which are almost the same thing) so does anyone have either the EVA cow mats or the Equimats and what thickness do you have the 24mm or the 34mm and how do you find them?
Thanks

I hope this might help

I did all my research, made my choice, and was on the point of buying when the car broke down and I ran out of money

I intend to get mine from:

when (or rather if!) I ever have the money

Thank you that is fantastic was that exact company i had been looking at on ebay however then i spotted the equi mats, Only reason i like the idea of the equimats over the mayo ones is they are offered on ebay including delivery for £45 which is only £3 more than the mayo ones but includes delivery.

God i am getting to be a right stable bedding geek what with wood pellets compared to shavings and rubber matting.

The Equimats are made out of EVA + something else. The something else bit makes them stronger and last longer. I know this because I have Equimats and the rest of the yard have the comfort ones. I have to recut the comfort ones twice a year as they spread and bulge. I've had my equimats 3 years and only had to cut them when I swopped them around.

I have also been looking at the mats - Robinsons sell the 34mm ones for £51.00 each, this is the cheapest that I have found.

I got my equimats 2nd hand off ebay a few years ago (very lucky!) just the thin ones - used as OP intends at front of stable - but they are fine, even for my 17.1 warmblood who likes to stamp around a bit. front edges are now getting worn but the main part of the mat is good as new. They do move around a bit though because they are not tightly fitted against the walls.
