Hi Guys

Has anyone used the new Equimax wormer tablets? I was wondering if they contain exactly the same ingredients as the paste? Are they palatable?

Thanks

I've used them. I got some 'dummy' tablets with them to get my horse used to them.
Some of the horses on the yard liked them and some didn't. You have to give a number of tablets depending on the horse's weight, one girl on my yard found that her horse ate the first few and then didn't want the rest. So I just put them on top of my horse's feed as a 'treat' and he ate them

When they did the trial work for these tablets only 50% of horses ate the tablets, so try to get some placebo's to try first! You also need 1 tab per 100kg, which is a lot of tablets if you've got a big beasty!!!

None of my three would eat them, even the one who eats everything, she spat it straight out. I had to crush them to a powder and put them in their feeds.

Much less hassle, even the nicest horse doesn't like being wormed.

For those who don't like the tablets I just crushed them with a polo and put in feed - still less hassle in my book that sticking paste down throat.

Absoutely love them! I wormed Genie with them yesterday, she'd eaten them all in five seconds flat and was looking for more!

She would fight me like hell when I used syringe, and would leave powder, so they save me so much hassle!

Ours all ate them as sweets. Very good for getting correct dosage, espacially as the pack treats 800 kilos of horse, otherwise our lads have to have more than one syringe each. But still have to fo an equest or Pramox a year for encysted small redworm.
