Anyone out there with experience of this? My 3 year old lab has just been diagnosed and is probably facing surgery. Will know more next week after his MRI. hoping someone out there has a positive outcome to share. :-/

If it's the same as in a human then there are a few treatments that can be done to help with symptoms etc and I have everything crossed that they can help your dog. Can't imagine how you must be feeling

I'm hovering somewhere between devastated and terrified at the moment! Internally, anyway. Done as much research as possible on the condition, treatments and prognosis (although the link posted by bellasophia was the most helpful). My new vet has been fantastic too - just hoping that someone has been through it and has a happy, active, pain free pooch at the end of it all. Had to change vet to get a diagnosis (of which he says he is 99.9% certain and was able to make straight away) - previous vet said he'd probably "tweaked something". I knew something was wrong, a you do when it's your own animal. Glad I trusted my gut. So he's now on the canine equivalent of box rest, with 10 mins in hand (on lead!) walking twice a day and pain relief. Off to Willows in Solihull on Tuesday. Hope they're as good as my vet says.

Good luck for tuesday. These specialist centers are the state of the art so I hope they find a solution that will bring resolve to your lab.If you go through the operation route ,I'd ask them if you can be contacted by someone who has been through this successfully and share info with them.On a practical day to day re aftercare, they can give tips that will certainly help things to go easier.
