An equine agent is really just another name for a dealer who actually listens to what his client wants & if he hasn't got it in stock will use his contacts to find what the client is looking for. We used such a dealer & he found us a really great horse who is everything we wanted & more & within our budget. You have to be realistic with your budget, you won't get something for nothing as remember the owner of the horse will want to make a profit & also the dealer/agent will want a slice as well.
I can thoroughly recommend Ellen Chapman who operates as theequineagent.com. She found my boy for me and was patience personified and so professional, she really impressed the guy selling my boy. She is a really experienced and calm person who knows her onions. I can't praise her enough.
I can also recommend Ellen. Her website is www.theequineagent.co.uk (Not .com)
She is not a dealer and does not take any cut on any horse you buy. In fact, she can save you a small fortune. (Saved us £500) She offers a range of services to help you find the right horse and she's brilliant at picking up things which you might have ignored. Ellen will attend viewings for you and give you a really thorough detailed report on the horse. She found our horse a few months ago and he's everything we wanted. He has his quirks as they all do, but we were forewarned about quirks so took him on with our eyes wide open. We also had a money back gaurantee secured by Ellen, (Don't know how she did that!) and she keeps in contact to check things are ok. Even now. Would definitly use her again.
