Hi has anyone used Equine Agility UK before?
They do clinics where they visit your yard and you do work in hand, like walking over tarp, under bunting, over ramps etc, like an assault course. The aim is to inspire people to create a relationship with your equine based on mutual trust and understanding.

It's all done in hand whereas Le Trec (which is similiar I believe) is ridden.

Trec do in hand too with similar situations to what you describe above. I used to have trec lessons but don't ride mine any more due to intermittent lameness but they still (prior to covid) come and do in hand training and comps

Trec do inhand.

Dressage4all do online trec each month including an inhand class.
Next week I'm taking my horse inhand to do trec training on an xc course - I think the water may be interesting, and I'm taking my running trainers!

Horse Agility offer ridden options too.

I've done a couple of Horse Agility clinics where I've been in-hand but also ridden. Horse Agility offer ridden competitions too.

Trec offers in-hand options too if you don't or can't ride.

I've found both very welcoming & inclusive :)

Ohhh.... soooh (scratching head here) "Equine Agility" and "Horse Agility" are different things, right??? Yes??

I went to a Horse Agility competition about 10 years ago now; there was also a TREC event happening at the same venue in the adjacent indoor school. Surprise of all surprises, my old boy came 2nd! And we got 10/10 on the "Trailer walk-through". This was a particularly sweet success, especially as he had been a Toad to load....... but had vastly improved due to a professional helping us.

Vanessa Bee was judging the competition; and she was absolutely fantastic! It just didn't feel like a competition at all. She encouraged everyone around the course and worked alongside handler and horse. She really is a totally amazing person!

Guess "Equine Agility" is another name for the same thing?? Like "Handy Pony" grew into TREC...........??? Sort of thing??

I did one of their training days a while ago which was a nice day out, only spoiled by the pony being totally unfazed by any of the hazards so not very exciting.

My understanding is Horse Agility is the 'original' and behind the Horse Agility Club & the International Horse Agility competitions and was founded by Vanessa Bee. There are adaptations - I think at one point, Interdressage ran their own competitions and league. They might still do. So would assume Equine Agility is another version of this.

I've always used Horse Agility and Horse Agility accredited trainers for the clinics & competitions, as like you say, Vanessa is so passionate about

Not done any for a couple of years now, so it might have changed a little since then.

Ha i think my horse will go mental and some things and not give a stuff at others. Tarp won't bother him but brightly coloured flags will.
Currently having a break down whenever the smell of lamb permeates the air - we are temporarily housing 18 lambs on the yard.

I'm taking my youngster to a TREC obstacle training clinic next week and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he is the same!

I've done Le Trec. Unfortunately I won't be riding my horse again, or at least its highly unlikely I will so anything I do will have to be in hand. We've done Le Trec before, the slow canter, fast walk was right up my horses street and the tarp never got a second look, even at the Monty Roberts demo when my horse was used as a problem loader they walked over the tarp with Kelly with no issues.

I think our yard is going to organise Horse Agility to come and visit so it will be a fun day.

Defo have a go at the online Trec.

The courses change each month and plenty to make them think.

In hand turn on the haunches is a hard one!
