As title really.

I have looked at all the other joint supplement posts including April's one and not much is said about this....

I am looking for how much to feed as I dont think the maintnence level of 15g per day can be the same for all.

I have 17hh warmblood who is only 8 but can be stiff in the mornings as he did a lot when he was about 4/5 before I had him.

I am currently feeding 30g per day and am on my second month, he does seem looser (normal) in the mornings and seeing how cold it is I am quite pleased.

I just wanted to hear from other people who may be feeding, re: opinions etc.....and if it has been used over a long period, or any other good advice you may be willing to share.

Thanks in advance

I have used this for two of mine for quite a while. One is 17 and has various forms of athritis and the other is 28. You should see them moving around the field. I think it's great stuff and good value for money.

I think it is good value for money joint supp. I feed it to my youngster as he had bog spavins and I was worried about his joints and although he doesn't / hasn't suffered any stiffness I am happy to keep feeding it as a preventative measure...His bog spavins have since disapeared too.

ets... I feed the 15g maintenance dose (he's a big 16.3hh and still growing).... guess it depends on the individual though... after 2 months on the loading dose you may be able to drop to the maintenance dose without ill effect.

If I remember correctly research shows 10g glucos. + MSM and 4g chondroitin to be the most beneficial? So feed however much of your supp will provide that.

i feed this to my boy and i think its fantastic for the price .
he's 16.3 heavy hunter type and im currently re-doing the loading dose as i gave him time off the supplement to see if there was a difference in his mobility (and not in my head) and he is much less stiff in the mornings .

didnt find a problem with the dosing = his height and weight

Using it in combination with Cortavet HA and Easy mover (wendalls)

Think its very good value for money-didn't do the 'loading' period as already was using Cortavet HA and Easy Mover.

I have managed to reduce my Cortavet HA though as a result which is the more expensive supplement.

My big lad has spavins in both hocks and he's brilliant on them-no stiffness either in the cold weather

My old boy was diagnosed with Ringbone @ 15. He was on Adaquan injections for a while until one day the vet injected him and he didn't come sound. I then made the decision to put him on Cortaflex. He is now 27. I have just changed him to the higher strength one and included Comfrey into his diet. Man you should have seen him when he made a break for freedom down the road when my hay was delivered and the gate was open briefly!!! :eek:Aside from my initial heart failure... He was moving the best I have seen him for a while...
