What is it? I have been given a 3.8L bottle of it - un-opened, seal still intact and I can't seem to find out what it is! The label that is on the back has been water damaged, though it is clearly still in date - good till the end of June 2008. What is it used for? Would it be good for a pregnant/lactating mare? A 2yo or a 23/24yo? HELP please!! I hate to see things going to waste...... Thank you!

From the EA product catalogue:
U-Gard Plus®
A calcium based supplement containing neutralising alkaline agents to gently soothe and coat the stomach lining, making it ideal for horses under stress, on high grain diets or that have a sensitive stomach. Key ingredients in U-Gard Plus® include Liquorice, Aloe Vera, Calcium Carbonate, Kaolin, Iron Oxide, Dried Apple Pectin Pulp, Magnesium Silicate, Vitamin B5 and Magnesium Oxide. In a trial on non-prescription alternatives to Gastrogard, the Horse Journal said "U-Gard is our first choice"
So good for stomach ulcers, wind suckers etc.

THANK YOU!! How did you find that? When I searched for Eqine America, all it would give me was cortaflex and even then it wouldn't let me move from those pages....

So, could be useful for B then....... Wonder if it's safe for pregnant mare? How would I find that out? Any ideas?

Just to say I have been using this for a couple of years for my mare who has suffered from Gastric ulcers. Pretty sure it would be ok for pregnant mare but you could always ring Equine America to check?

Would only use if mare had ulcer problems though?

You can only get it in powder form now, I think the liquid form was form quite a few years ago....

Thank you SO much faerie666. I e-mailed Equine America earlier and they responded to say that it will be fine for B to have, even as a pregnant mare, just to shake it well - lol!
