A very dear friend of mine lost her old horse and it has hit her very hard. Their relationship was amazing and she has dreaded this time for the last few years. When I visited during the summer, I secretly took some video of the old boy as I knew that his time was limited. My plan was to hand over the video to an equine artist after he passed away to get a portrait done of him and present it to her after she had finished the grieving process. I know she would appreciate this more than anything else. There are a lot of talented people on here and others have had portraits done. I'm looking for someone who can give a true likeness from photographs, in this case close-up video. PM if you prefer.

Papa Frita on here did a wonderful portrait from photos for my friend. Also I had an oil done for my daughters 21st birthday, again from photos but it was a few years ago. It was also fantastic. If you want her name I can find it so pm me but would recommend PF on here.

definitely have a look through the artists thread on here, some amazing work, and you can get a feel of everyones styles, as not everyone likes the same things so its hard to make recommendations really.

I recently had 2 done of my mare who was PTS in July, and my sister's pony, by Jenny Deakin (Freckles22uk on here). She is also on Facebook. I absolutely love them - they are good - both done from photos. She is reasonably priced too.

I don't have anyone to recommend and you already have quite a few suggestions but I just wanted to say that that's such a lovely thought, I'm sure your friend will be absolutely over the moon xx

There is a group on facebook called 'Hampshire Hooves' (local to me) and on it advertises a girl who does amazing pencil drawings of peoples horses i think they are only around £25 but she has put several examples up (inc the photo she has taken the image form) and they are stunning. may well be wrth joining the group and seeking her out as for the life of me i cannot remember her name!
