equine assisted therapy for depression/anxiety??

does anyone know an organisation that provides equine assisted therapy for teenagers and/or adults who have depression, anxiety etc etc etc? something like the RDA but obviously for mental health

or what is the main equine assisted therapy organisation/group/dont know how to explain

Hi, the places you are on about are called care farms, there is one in Suffolk, the lady is called Jann Turner just let me know if you want her number x

Some RDA groups will cater for people with mental health problems, probably a better set up than some of the residential places, which are often expensive and a lot of health trusts won't pay for them.

I would be wary of these places to be honest as often the 'therapists' aren't qualified like professional psychotherapists, and so they don't always know what they are talking about; although I'm not doubting that some of them will be very good at what they do. For example, I was offered a job as an equine assisted psychotherapist just because I have a psychology MSc and I know about horses!

In my opinion you're better off making inquiries with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - http://www.bacp.co.uk/ or the Tavistock and going from there.
