If anyone can point me in the right direction for an equine behaviourist i would really appreciate it! South west area but reccomendations if any will be welcome! thanks
My vet is a behaviourist - her name is Amber Batson and she works out of Priory vets in Reigate Surrey - maybe worth a call as she will probably travel to you - she loves all things behaviour!! The practice website is http://www.prioryvets.co.uk/equine
not sure where you are.. nick sanders 07870 765018 could help. he has horses in for rehab, therapy, schooling etc and will come out to yards too.. depending on where you are travel expenses could be an issue??!
hes in brecon wales.
Try http://www.animalminds.co.uk/ - Katie B Wade is in Oxfordshire so not too far, but they're a gorup who work together, based in training with Natural Animal Centre so all trainig very positive.
When choosing people (I don't mean form the above website, just in general) just be careful who you call out, a friend of mine was having problems with picking up her yearling's hooves and got a so behaviour trainer or something from google, who ended up tying up the horses leg and making it nearly rear over backwards, all v dangerous and unpleasant and pony certainly not any more trusting after this of course!! The group above are fantastic though - but just be careful to ensure that whoever you ge tell you what they base their methods on!!
