Had the dentist out the other day to do 3 of mine - 2 needed quite extensive rasping the other just a little. This chap has been around for years and has an excellent reputation - he was great with the horses (one of whom is very nervy mare) but I did notice blood 'pooled' in the gag when he removed it from the mouths of the two who needed most work.
There wouldn't have been much blood (esp as it would have been mixed with saliva) and the horses didn't seem bothered at all. I just wondered whether they had bitten their tongues chewing the gag or whether the rasp had been hitting some soft tissue? Is this normal?
