Does anyone know of a good EDT in Ayrshire or the West of Scotland? I can't remember who we got out for Dylan last time, and I'm not keen on the vet doing it (last dentist said the vet made a hash of it).

Thanks :)

Sorry, I forgot what dentist we use aswell, they will be needing done soon & I don't like the vet doing it either! Was just wondering where abouts in Ayrshire you are? As I'm from Ayrshire too :)

I'm from Uplawmoor and horse is in Dunlop :)

I used Lucinda Stockley - who is simply beyond compare IMHO. However she is very limited in the numbers she does when she comes over from Ireland.

My mate who is down in Lanark swears by Gail Gladstone nee Rogan - she's actually my farriers niece - my mate is VERY choosy as to who she'd use so if she rates her I think she's be very good and I think she travels all over so Largs shouldn't be too far.

There are a lot of horse dentists about, I know that I would only use one who is qualified, and the only way to check is on the BAEDT (british assoc of equine dental technicians) website, I have heard too many horror stories of others and bogus qualifications and inadequate insurance. There are some who cover Scotland. good luck

The dental technician I use lives in Ayrshire covers Scotland, his name is Mark Twigg he's on the BAEDT website. I've got a selection of horses from unruly 2yr old colt to know it all teenager and everything in between but thankfully he's had no problems working on any of them.
