Hi

One of my horses is going to someone in the black isle so Inverness area. We need a dentist to go and look at her as she has had some weight loss. Just wondered if anyone could recommend someone please?
Thank you

Kessock Equine Vets do most horses in the area. There aren't any specialist ones in Inverness but maybe someone would come through from Aberdeen or from the south if you can get a days work for them?

Ok thanks for that. I didnt really want a vet to do her. Only because a vet that did her vetting said she needs sedated as she needs work done on her back teeth. However she has up until the last 2years been done regularly and had work done on her and never been sedated in her life. The vet also said he wont give her a chance which i think is a bit unfair

As above Kessock Equine are good.. personally I really like prof Mac ... but you might not get him if you go for a zone visit.

MTA Or Ailsa from Invergordon..

I've used David Brown (I'm in Ayrshire) but not sure how far he travels. He is really patient and works away quietly until he gets their teeth done.
I was told by vet my Welshie needed the "power tools" etc and would have to go to the vet's to get it done. I contacted David and he did it without any problem!

Have always used Kessock Equine Vets with no complaints; I think they prefer to sedate to make it easier on horse & vet, but if yours is unlikely to be troublesome I'm sure they will do it without - why not contact them to discuss? As someone else mentioned I think, there's no call out charge if you can be flexible as to what day they come out (area 'zones' allocated to particular days).
