Hi

Can anybody recommend an equine dentist who covers the Scarborough area in North Yorkshire? Would prefer someone recommended through word of mouth as it is to do a youngster who I don't want to have a bad experience so somebody kind and patient is an absolute must!!

The best place to look is either this website:

or this website:

These are the people who have actually gained qualifications to say that they are of a certain standard. Otherwise you are running the risk that they've just picked up a couple of rasps off ebay and started styling themselves as an EDT (it's a personal bug-bear of mine). Most serious EDTs get themselves qualified nowadays, or are at least working towards the qualification, and their prices are very often no different to the unqualified EDTs.

Dan Astle-Carter is very good, lives outside Whitby. A large local vets use him so he is highly recommended. If you google his name you will find his contact details.

I'd recommend Dan (Astle-Carter) he should be on those websites. I've known him since he was a kid and he has a lovely quiet, gentle way with horses and has had horses and numerous youngsters all his life so he knows his stuff.

I've just started using jon Taylor and think he's great, recomended him to some friends and four ppl in our village now use him and all were pleased with him. Don't know if he's away now but he was in our village begining of last wk
