My mares needed her teeth done for a while but she seemed ok, she was eating/not dropping much and keeping her weight ok, so shes had her vacs ect.
Today i longreined her and its the first time shes had her bit in for a while.
Shes been struggling a little over the last few days to eat, but after longreining her (she was shaking her head loads) she cannot eat hay at all

I feel soo bad that the 5 mins of longreining could drasticly make it worse

If i go in with a friend wont be able to have her teeth done until next week. Anything i can do to help her until then, im leaving her out feeding her v.wet chaff and soaked nuts 3 times a day
Any feeds/haylage that would help?
And anyone that has numbers for dentists that would be able to do her before next week would be greatly appreciated

Grass nuts/alfalfa nuts/alfabeet soaked and stir in decent chop like Alfa A, Alfa A Oil
Doubt you wil get EDt sooner unless someone near you also getting them
Does your vet do teeth?
Mine does, but prefers EDT to do it unless just simple rasp job-your sound a big job
Have a look at BEVA recommended list of EDTs

I think sometimes because you cant see whats going on in the horses mouth people tend to just "wait an extra month" until you realise all of a sudden it is 6 months overdue and horse is in pain.
Try ringing Chris Keate or Rob Pascoe from Bell Equine and see if they can fit you in their numbers are on the BEVA list on one of the sticky posts in "stable yard"

What you are doing sounds right, perhaps leave out the haylage as she will have trouble eating the long fibres

Tell them it is desperate

Good Luck
