Had anyone used one of these and are they worth the money? With my bad loader/traveler having to try and load by myself is traumatic. Looking for any assistance possible!

Any experiences gratefully received!

Is that the one, that in principle is like using a lunge line? If so, then if your horse will load with a lunge line then it should work.

Mine used to be difficult and often with a lunge line she would just lean in to it, sit on it and then go vertical - therefore this wouldn't work.

Two of my horses are reluctant to load and I've found using a Dually Halter has helped. They basically won't budge and I can't be at the front end and back end at the same time. Does your horse create or is it just stubborn? The Easy Loader have a website with demonstration on there. Have also PMd you.

It depends, sometimes he creates a fuss and sometimes he just wont budge, can be a total pain in the ar*e which is helpless when you are trying to do this stuff by yourself

Dually hasn't helped at all. Are there any alternative halters that you know of?

I do one called Solo Harness which is much less expensive than the easyloader - I think it might be the one the first reply refers to. Have a look and see what you think - www.soloequestrian.com. There is a link to a YouTube video of the harness on my intermittent loader, who yours sounds very like! The harness does work like a lunge line, but holds itself in place and you don't need anyone else to help you. I tried it with one horse who exploded when he saw the lunge line coming up behind him but loaded instantly with the harness. The 'hugging' effect of the harness also seems to calm some horses - it's been compared to the Tellington wrap or Temple Grandin's squeeze machine.

Go back to the dually halter. Despite going on a weekend NH clinic, I still didn't think the dually halter worked for my mare (she is plain stubborn and just plants her feet, and I always have to load on my own). I spent ages working her with it, and got to a point where I was convinced it didn't work.

I stopped using it for a while, then reluctantly went back to it and persevered and low and behold - I hate to admit it (after weeks of ranting that it didn't work), but it works! I had a lot of weeks of going backwards, sometimes almost backwards across a whole field. But now she gets it and on the days she does decide she's not going to load all I have to do is either use a sharp tug to remind her she's wearing the dually, or I back her up a few paces and she soon remembers and walks on.
