I have some of the above boots on hire and have tried them on the horse, they seem to be a fairly good fit around the actual hoof but I can get 2/3 fingers down the back of the pastern into the boot although i have done the boot up as tight as it will go. As I am totally new to boots, have never even seen one on I am unsure if this is ok or not, I would think mud etc could easily get down into the boot plus the fact it could move up & down as the horse moves, these boots are supposed to be performance boots but I am rather dubious about doing much more than trot in them. I have done no more than put them on at this stage because I will not be charged the hire fee if I keep them as new so am loath to start using them proper if they are defiantely too big. Does anyone have or use these boots who could give guidance please ??

The place I am hiring them from is on hols at the moment
