As it seems there are 2 cases in Aberdeen.....about 25miles away from us, and that we have several fairly well used access tracks running over our place, should we as a precaution be closing the tracks to horses? to everybody? or not at all?

I wouldn't as long as there's no chance of physical contact now it has been established that the confirmed 1 case in Aberdeen is the less serious respiratory EHV and not the neurological one that has been so devastating at several stables down south. Apparently most horses carry EHV routinely anyway.

So no, I wouldn't (and I do have tracks on my property). What I wouldn't want however is any organised events with large numbers of horses coming through, just cos that increases the risk due to the sheer numbers.
