Hi, I hope the mods don't mind this going in here but this charity ( reg 1114700) has a bit of a crisis right now.
Our old wonderful donated lorry has failed and is no longer. It has left the charity without transport of our own, we do have some kind offers of borrowing but in practical terms and for the many and varied uses we used the old transport for, we really need to get back mobile again.
It's a big ask, I know, but the charity is appealing to anyone who may have a roadworthy old lorry or trailer they might donate or even allow the charity to buy but with a long term financial option to do so - as the funds we hold must remain in place for Winter feeding/veterinary and general care needs of our resident horses and ponies and those who will, without a doubt, need charity help in the months ahead.
We have many and varied fundraisers happening to try and source funds and I am happy to run/walk/lorry pull to gain funds. Please see our website for more details of the charity http://www.emwuk.org.uk or if you wish to ask/discuss more e-mail emw@emwuk.org.uk
Thanks for reading this.

I would suggest that you contact some of the reputable horse box builders and ask them if they would be prepared to donate to you one of their trade-ins. Alternatively tere is a large breakers yard (Rush Green Motors Codicote Herts) ) near me which have numerous old horse boxes and again you could ask them if they would let you have a runner.

Could not offer the box builders a logo or advertising section on the box. This might make it a more appealing option for them. Also advertising for some of the larger companies, such as feed, saddle comapanies might help finance it.

Bump also :)
Am I also allowed to add about ebay and making EMW your favourite charity by voting for them. The 3 charities with the most votes in September will each receive a £5,000 grant. This money would go a long way to helping out the charity, especially in the run up to winter and with prices on the increase again.
If I am not allowed to post this then please remove it.
I just wanted to highlight another way in which this great charity could receive some well needed funds as it is much harder for these smaller charities to gain funds compared to the bigger ones who can afford a lot more publicity and yet they are all trying to do the same job- save equines in one way or another!

Will look into the ebay thing, but with regard to boxes etc, as said before really if you contact some of the major horse companies, it would look good on them to be advertised with a charity, so I would contact local trailer/horsebox firms see if they have a used part ex box that they would let you have at a reduced amount in return for their own advert on the side, they may even help out with any repairs! Make sure you tell them where in the country they would get their advert seen, i.e where you travel to and from often etc. And that they would be associated with a charity.

Good luck, it's hard times at the moment with lots of charities clambouring over what few donations are coming in.

You're probably already on it but have u done a pleading press release to the local papers and nationals? We did one at the dptc and did get a useable trailer through it which we used for a bit, luckily a friend then brought a very nice one we can use whenever kept with us - it adds a lot of work.and time to the day borrowing one when u have to pick it up clean it and drop it off again
